Went to a local meetup in Portland and saw someone's keyboard with a custom spacebar that was a literal brick

I was at the Portland Keyboard Club meetup last Saturday and one guy had a tiny ACTUAL brick glued onto his spacebar switch, it must have weighed like half a pound. He said he did it because he wanted "the most THOCK possible" and I couldn't stop laughing every time he tried to type. Has anyone else seen completely absurd keycaps or spacebars that totally ruined a build for the sake of a joke?

Used to hate gimmick builds like that. Thought they were just dumb attention grabs that made the boards unusable. But seeing that brick spacebar in action changed my mind completely. The guy was totally committed to the bit, struggling to type but grinning like an idiot the whole time. Sometimes the absurdity is the whole point, and honestly that brings me more joy than another perfectly tuned linear switch build.

Right? That's exactly how I felt when I tried a buckling spring board for the first time.
