Finally figured out why my space bar always rattled after 6 months of builds

I was lubing the stabilizer wires but completely forgetting to put dielectric grease on the plastic housing contact points, and a guy at the Austin meetup last Saturday pointed it out when he heard my board clacking.

Wait, wouldn't forgetting the dielectric grease actually make the stabilizers less mushy and give you a crisper clack instead of that dull thud? I've always thought the rattle just adds character to the board, makes it sound alive.

The thing is, a little grease on the wire ends stops the annoying metallic ping that ruins the clack for me. Without it, that "character" just sounds like loose metal rattling around inside my case, not a clean keypress. So I'd rather have a dull thud that stays consistent than a wireless, buzzy stabilizer that sounds different every time I bottom out.
