Made $2,100 in one weekend from a silly crochet pattern I almost ditched
Two Fridays ago I posted a video of a little mushroom guy I crocheted on a whim, and by Sunday morning my phone would not stop buzzing. I had 47 sales at $8 each on my pattern PDF, plus 12 people bought the finished plush at $35. Turns out a big crochet account in Portland shared it and it just took off. Normally I make maybe $60 a month on there, so this felt unreal. Has anyone else had one random thing blow up while the stuff you actually worked hard on sits there?
How funny is it that the stuff we almost throw away is the stuff that pays off? My best guess is that mushroom guy just had that cute factor people cannot scroll past, and the big account share did the rest. Meanwhile the patterns you spent weeks perfecting probably look too much like everything else out there, so nobody stops. The internet is weird like that, it rewards the random stuff and ignores the careful stuff. Congrats on the weekend though, that is a wild jump from your usual $60!
