Question about the prompt jar a guy passed around at a diner in Tulsa
I was eating breakfast at a diner in Tulsa back in April when a guy at the counter pulled out a jar of paper slips and told the waitress to pick one. She read it out loud to the whole room and about six strangers ended up tossing ideas back and forth for 20 minutes. I started doing the same thing with my writing group, each person drops 3 slips, and we pull 2 at once and have to mash them together into one prompt. The mix of a boring one with a weird one is where the good stuff shows up, like pairing a lost dog with a broken elevator. What random pairings have you all tried that actually worked?
