Had to pick between a forest farm and the beach layout, chose wrong for 40 hours
Started a new Stardew save last month and spent a whole evening deciding between the forest farm and the beach farm. I love foraging and the tree stumps, but I picked the beach because I liked the open water look. Turns out sprinklers don't work on most of the sand, so I spent 40 in-game hours hand watering everything with a watering can. My crops kept dying during summer because I couldn't keep up. Finally gave up and restarted on the forest farm last weekend. It's way easier. Has anyone else made a layout choice they regretted later, or is it just me?

Holding out on the beach farm makes every later upgrade feel ten times more satisfying, that's the real challenge.
