Always skipped fishing mini-games, one comment changed that

I used to ignore fishing in Stardew and Coral Island because I found it stressful, not cozy. Then someone on a Discord server said the fishing in Dredge is calming because it's just rhythm and timing, not pixel perfect aiming. I gave it another shot in Stardew after that, spent 2 hours at the mountain lake last night, and actually caught a lava eel on floor 100 try. Has anyone else flipped on a mechanic they hated after seeing it from a different angle?
