Serious question, a buddy said my game night setup was too sweaty, and he was right
I used to run game nights at my place in Sacramento with spreadsheets for the bracket, strict 9pm start times, and a rule that anyone could pause for snacks but not for phone checks. After the third week, my friend Marcus pulled me aside and said people were showing up stressed instead of happy, which stung because he was clearly right. I dropped the bracket to a simple whiteboard, cut the rules to two (no screen peeking, loser picks next game), and let people wander in and out whenever. We went from 6 regulars to 11, and last Friday we ran 4 hours of TowerFall and Overcooked with zero complaints. Has anyone else had to loosen up their format to keep the crew coming back, or am I the only one who over-planned this?
