Pro tip: unplug the second controller before you hand it to a new player
We had a game night in my garage last Friday with four guys and a 12 pack of cheap soda, and the whole thing almost fell apart in the first 20 minutes. What kept happening was the guest controller was still synced to the last person's profile, so the new guy would spawn in as a level 40 character he had never touched and just get destroyed. I started unplugging the USB cable and holding the sync button for about 5 seconds before passing it over, and now every new player starts fresh at level 1 with their own name. Took me three failed nights to figure out it was a profile issue and not the controller going bad. If you are running a 4 player session, do this for every handoff or you will spend half the night in menus. Anyone else got a pre-game ritual that saves their couch nights from falling apart?
