My buddy said my game night picks were "too sweaty" and honestly he was right
So about two months ago my friend Dave, who I've been doing couch co-op with since college, told me straight up that he dreaded coming to my place on Fridays because I kept picking stuff that needed 100 percent focus. I didn't get it at first, I thought he was just being lazy. Then I looked at what we played for six weeks in a row and it was all tough stuff where one mistake ends the run, and I realized I was basically running a tryout instead of a hangout. Now here's where I can't decide which side is right. Half of me says a game night is a game night, if you want to win you pick good games and people should rise to it. The other half says the whole point is hanging out, and if my friend is stressed the whole time then I picked bad games no matter how good they are. What I ended up doing is splitting the night, one hard game for the first hour and then something dumb and easy after, and honestly both of us liked it better. But now I'm second guessing whether I gave up something by always making room for the easy stuff. Where do you all land on this, do you keep a hard game in the rotation or just let game night be game night?
