My balayage technique shift after 15 years in the chair

I spent years doing balayage with heavy foils and thick sections, thinking it gave the most dramatic lift. About 6 months ago, I started using a dry brushing method with smaller weave sections and a light hand on the lightener. A younger stylist in my salon convinced me to try it after she got better results on a client with stubborn roots. Now I get softer blends that grow out way more naturally, and I save about 20 minutes per head. Anyone else made a big switch in how they apply color after years of doing it the same way?

Oh yeah, that lighter hand thing is key. I switched to a similar method with my own hair and it was a total game changer for my roots.
