Client told me my curling iron was too hot and I brushed her off for months

Finally tested it with a thermometer last week and it was reading 50 degrees higher than the dial said, has anyone else had their tools just drift over time without noticing?

Used to think my tools were fine but you convinced me to actually check.

Fifty degrees isn't really that huge of a deal, a lot of people purposely run their irons hotter than the dial says anyway. Brushing her off for months is the real issue here, not the temperature.
