Question about who actually reads the daily reports I write every morning

I was complaining to a retired super named Ray at a job site in Reno about how much time my daily logs eat up, and he asked me who reads them. I said the owner's rep, I guess. He laughed and said in 30 years nobody ever read his until a crane dropped a load of rebar and suddenly three lawyers wanted every page. That hit me hard because I had been writing mine for the file, not for the day. Now I write them like someone will read them out loud in a courtroom, and honestly the crew fixes stuff faster too. Does anyone here write daily reports a different way, or am I overthinking the whole thing?
