I finally got my dad to see the holes in that moon landing documentary
He was watching this old show about the 'vanishing astronaut' on TV last Tuesday, the one that claims you can see a crew member in a window reflection. I sat down and pulled up the NASA transcript from that exact moment on my phone. We read it together, and it clearly described a checklist floating by the window, not a person. He paused for a second and just said, 'Huh, they really did think of everything.' It's a small thing, but using the actual primary source material worked better than any argument I've tried before. Has anyone else had luck with a specific document or recording to gently counter a long-held theory?

My friend had a similar win with her uncle who was big on the "faked plane crash" idea. She found the official air traffic control audio from that exact day and played it for him. Hearing the actual, calm voices of the controllers discussing routine details made the whole conspiracy feel silly to him.

Used to think that too until I heard the raw audio myself.
