Update: the mixer drum clutch let go mid-pour on a driveway in Mesa and we finished it by hand
Had a 22 yard driveway pour last Tuesday in Mesa and about 6 yards in the drum just stopped turning. Turns out the clutch on the old mixer gave out, and the driver said he had to wait on a tow. We had 16 yards already out and no time to sit around, so me and two guys finished the rest with wheelbarrows and a couple of come-alongs. Took us almost 4 hours longer than planned and my back is still mad at me. The homeowner kept bringing us Gatorade and asking if everything was fine, and we just kept saying yep, all good. Anyone else got a trick for keeping a pour moving when the gear breaks down mid-job?
