Rented a power screed for a 40x60 slab in Bakersfield and now my crew won't touch a straightedge
Had a pour out in Bakersfield three weeks ago, 40x60 shop slab, and my arms were shot from the week before so I rented a power screed for $180 for the day. Two of my guys loved it, said their backs felt fine at quitting time for the first time in a while. But my old finisher swears it flattened the crown too much and we fought the bleed water the whole afternoon. So what's the call here, is a power screed cheating on smaller pours or is hand pulling a straightedge just tradition for tradition's sake?
