Bungee cord hangup finally clicked after a near miss in the Gulf

I used to rig my stage weights with the same bungee loops for every job, thought it was fine. Then a deckhand in Venice, Louisiana pointed out my hook orientation was backwards, one good snag and that 200 lb anchor could drop on my foot. Anyone else double check their rigging after a close call or am I just late to this?
