Update: I was gatekeeping my own comic collection for years without realizing it.
My cousin, who's 14, asked to borrow my old Ultimate Spider-Man run and I almost said no because 'he wouldn't get it'. I caught myself and just handed him the first trade, and he loved it. Do you think being protective of comics is part of being a fan, or does it just keep new people out?
