TIL donating old comics to a library can get you blacklisted from a local con

I gave the public library in Dayton a long box of 90s X-Men duplicates last month, then found out the guy who runs the comic convention saw them at their fundraiser sale and thought I was dumping junk on purpose. He told my buddy 'that guy's just trying to unload trash' and now I can't get a vendor table for the spring show... has anyone else dealt with a local organizer holding a grudge over donations?

Honestly, that sounds less like a donation problem and more like a paperwork problem. Did you get a receipt or any kind of written thank-you from the library? Without that, the con guy probably just saw loose comics and made his own call. A simple receipt or email from the library explaining the donation would clear up any misunderstanding real quick.
