Serious question, the guy at my shop in Dayton said he stopped buying new floppies 3 years ago and just waits for trades
Had a real talk with a dude named Marcus at my local shop in Dayton on Saturday. He has been reading comics since the 90s. I asked what he was pulling that week and he said nothing. Not one single issue. He said about 3 years back he did the math on his pull list, $48 a month, and realized half of those issues just sat in a short box unread. Now he waits 6 to 8 months for the trade and gets the whole arc for less than he used to pay for two issues. Here is the part that got me. He said he actually remembers the stories better now because he reads them in one sitting instead of forgetting half the plot between issues. I have a pull list of 11 titles and I honestly cannot tell you what happened in most of them past issue 2. So now I am sitting here wondering if I am collecting comics or just collecting the feeling of going to the shop every Wednesday. Curious if anyone here made that switch and regretted it.

Guy did some math and now everyone's questioning their whole pull list? Feels a bit dramatic. Plenty of people read monthly and enjoy it just fine, forgetting plot between issues isnt some deep life problem. If you like going to the shop on Wednesdays, just go.
