Vent: That $45 'coffee tuning kit' was pure snake oil

I saw this kit online that promised to 'unlock the hidden sweetness' in any bean using special glass vials and a tuning fork. Three weeks of tapping vials and comparing cups with my buddy, and I swear the only difference was that we got weird looks from the barista. Ended up donating half the kit to a thrift store and kept the glass vials for garage storage. Has anyone else fallen for one of these pseudo-scientific coffee gadgets, or is it just me?
