The day I figured out I was grinding coffee wrong for 3 years
I was at a friend's house last Saturday and he handed me a pour-over that tasted way better than anything I've ever made. I asked what beans he used and he just laughed and said 'same bag you bought me last month.' Turns out I've been grinding on the finest setting thinking it makes stronger coffee, but he showed me his medium grind and explained I was just making bitter sludge. Has anyone else had that moment where a simple tweak completely changed your coffee game?

And it's wild how many things in life are like that. We all learn one way to do something and just keep doing it wrong for years because nobody ever tells us the simple fix.

Is it really wrong if it gets the job done? I've been slicing bagels the dangerous way for 30 years and haven't lost a finger yet.
