That one barista showed me how to actually dial in espresso
I was at a small shop in Portland last spring and the barista asked if I wanted to try pulling my own shot. She spent 10 minutes walking me through grind size adjustments until the shot ran 28 seconds instead of 18. Has anyone else had a stranger teach them something that totally clicked?

That Portland shop sounds like they actually know their stuff.

Ugh, come on. It's just a bike shop. They put tires on rims and adjust brakes like every other shop. People act like this place discovered fire or something.
