My barista in Austin asked why I always order the same bean, and it made me rethink my whole habit
I always grab the same medium roast from the shop near my apartment in Austin every single week, and last Tuesday the barista finally asked me if I had ever tried anything else. I told her it was just easier, but she said something like 'you might be missing what you actually like.' How do you all figure out when to branch out versus stick with what works?
Is this really a thing people need to rethink? It's coffee. The barista is just doing her job and maybe trying to sell you something different, that's it. If you like your medium roast, keep buying it. Trying new things is fine but you don't need a life lesson over a bag of beans. Sometimes the same order every week is just you knowing what you want. Not everything has to be a journey of self discovery.
