Am I the only one who thinks expensive coffee grinders are overrated?

I was at a local cafe last Saturday and overheard this guy raving about his $600 grinder like it was magic. He said it changed his whole morning routine. But I've been using a $30 hand grinder from Amazon for the last 2 years and my pour-overs taste just as good. I think people get caught up in the hype of price tags when the real difference is just fresh beans and proper technique. Has anyone else tried a cheap grinder and felt fine sticking with it?
