Update: a commenter told me my variable names were "useless" and I'm still not sure if they were right
I posted my first little weather app on here about a month ago and one reply just said "x and y tell me nothing, call them something real." At first I got defensive, since it was working fine and I was proud of it. Now I'm split on whether that advice is always true or just sometimes. On one hand, I renamed 14 variables (things like `temp` and `cityName`) and I could actually read my own code a week later without scrolling up. On the other hand, I see short names like `i` in loops all over real code, so maybe it depends on the case. So which side are you on, should new coders always spell names out, or is it fine to keep it short when it's obvious? And if you got a comment like that early on, did you change it or ignore it?
