TIL about chip thinning in a Haas manual I had for 3 years
Found a section in the Haas control manual that explained chip thinning and how it changes feed rate math. Anyone else realize they've been running feeds too slow on shallow radial cuts?

Heard a tooling rep mention the same thing once, said most guys are leaving 30% feed on the table with light passes. Are you bumping up your feeds now to match the new math?

That 30% number is more about chip thinning than light passes.
