My finish passes got way cleaner after I slowed the feed rate from 80 to 45 on a stainless job last month
I was fighting chatter and bad surface finish on a 304 part, dropped the feed way down and took a deeper cut instead, now I'm getting near-mirror results. Has anyone else found a big improvement by going slower with more depth?

Man, I did the same thing last year on a 316 job and felt like a genius for about five minutes before I realized I'd just been brute-forcing everything wrong the whole time. Slower feed with a heavier cut is like discovering you've been fighting a door that actually pulls instead of pushes. Made me wonder how many other simple tricks I'm still missing.

316 work hardened on me once doing the same thing. Learned that lesson hard!
