Mammatus after a storm in Wichita vs the generic anvil crawlers I usually shoot
Drove out to Wichita two weeks ago and caught a mammatus display at sunset that made every anvil crawler shot on my phone look flat. The pouches hung low for maybe 15 minutes under a dying cumulonimbus and the color went from gray to orange without me touching a setting. My phone shots of regular storm tops never have that depth because the cloud is just a bright blob against blue. So is it worth chasing the weird stuff even if it only lasts a few minutes, or do you stick with the reliable shots that always come out decent?
