Just learned my city's recycling trucks dump glass in the trash, so I started checking before I sort
I called the public works office in Toledo after a neighbor told me glass goes straight to the landfill, and the guy on the phone admitted they stopped taking it in 2021 because there is no buyer within 300 miles. Now I drive my jars 20 minutes to a drop off behind a hardware store, which feels like it cancels out the point of recyling in the first place. Does anyone know if this is normal for mid size cities, or is my town just behind?
