Lake Road vs 90 for my morning commute, 90 wins every time

I spent 3 months taking Lake Road from Bay Village into downtown and thought I was saving time with the scenery. Turns out all those stoplights in Rocky River and Lakewood add up way more than I thought. Last week I timed both routes on the same day, 38 minutes on 90 versus 51 on Lake Road. Plus my gas bill dropped about 12 bucks a week since I'm not braking constantly. Only downside is the potholes near the W 117th exit are brutal right now. Anyone else find a faster shortcut through the west side that beats the highway?
