Appreciation post: That time my garage door spring snapped at 6am in Lakewood

I was backing out for my shift at the plant when the whole door just slammed down and got stuck halfway. Took me 20 minutes to muscle it up enough to get my truck out. Called a guy from Rocky River who fixed it same day for $180, but now I double check that thing before I even start the car. Anyone else have a random morning disaster that threw off their whole week?

Took me 20 minutes to muscle it up enough to get my truck out" - man I felt that in my back just reading it lol. Did you ever figure out if there was any warning signs before it snapped, like creaking or it being slow to open the day before? I swear those springs give zero notice, they just go when they want. My buddy had his break and his car was stuck in the garage for three days cause he couldn't get it up at all.

It's always the stuff we take for granted that fails us when we least expect it, like those springs or the battery in your smoke detector.
