That $90 chimney camera extension was a total scam

I bought one of those cheap camera extensions online, the kind that plugs into your phone. The ad said it would show me every crack and creosote chunk clear as day. It arrived, and the picture was so fuzzy I couldn't tell a flue tile from a shadow. The light was weak, and the cord felt like it would snap if I bent it wrong. I tried to use it on a standard clay tile liner job last Tuesday and gave up after ten minutes, going back to my trusty mirror and flashlight. Lost the whole $90 plus an hour of my time messing with it. Has anyone found a decent, affordable inspection camera that actually works for our line of work, or is it all just junk?

Man, that's the worst feeling. Dropping that kind of cash on a tool that just doesn't work is a real kick in the teeth. My buddy had the same thing happen with a different brand, the picture was so bad it was basically useless. Makes you just want to stick with the old ways for sure.
