Pro tip: the caps on the flues at that new apartment complex off Route 9 in Parma are all installed backwards
Drove past a job site there yesterday and counted 14 of them with the screen facing into the wind, which means every one of those units is going to draft like garbage come January. Anybody else seeing lazy cap work from the same crews, or is it just my area?
Are you sure those are actually backwards though? I walked that same site last week and a lot of those caps looked fine to me, maybe just a couple got knocked around by the wind we had. The screen side facing out is how a lot of them are made now, it keeps rain from getting in the pipe. Not saying there is never sloppy work, but 14 out of 14 seems like a stretch for a crew that would have failed inspection. Might be worth taking a closer look before calling the whole job garbage.
