Old way vs new way on this 1920s house this morning

Used to take me an hour with the old steel brush and rods on those narrow flues. Switched to the poly whip system last month and did this whole job in 35 minutes flat. Anyone else find newer tools actually work better than the old tried and true?

My dad still swears by his old hand tools for woodworking, says the new stuff is junk. But I've noticed the same thing you have with a lot of modern gear - sometimes the tech just makes sense. Bought one of those oscillating multi-tools last year thinking it was a gimmick, now I can't imagine going back to a hacksaw for tight spots. It's like people get stuck in a routine and forget that better ways might exist.

Better ways might exist" - but better for what, not everything new is actually an upgrade.
