Old timer at the supply house said I was wasting time with wire brushes

Guy named Frank saw me buying my third wire brush this month. Told me I should switch to poly brushes for clay flue tile. Said they last way longer and don't scratch the surface. I laughed it off but tried one on a job over in Lakewood yesterday. That brush cleaned just as good and didn't leave metal shavings everywhere. Any of you guys made the switch and stuck with it?

Ha! I've been that guy buying the fourth brush before admitting I was wrong (still sore about it).

Admit it, you just wanted an excuse to buy more brushes. Don't act like this is some life defining crisis.
