Bought a $180 rotary chimney brush and the bristles snapped off inside a flue in Tacoma
So I picked up one of those rotary brush kits from a supply house near South Tacoma Way because a guy on a job site swore they cut creosote way faster than a standard poly brush. Third job in, on a nasty fireplace flue, the whole brush head sheared off about 15 feet down and I spent 2 hours fishing it out with a weighted chain. That's $180 gone plus a lost afternoon, and the homeowner stood in her driveway the whole time asking if her house was gonna catch fire. I went back to my stiff poly brush and rods the next morning for $40 and never had a problem. Anybody had luck with a rotary setup or is it just me that thinks they're garbage for anything but a straight shot?
