Beware the giant novelty cat book\u2019s binding glue

My 12 pound \u201cBig Book of Grumpy Cats\u201d from a Portland flea market lost 14 pages on day three because the cheap glue dried out, so check the spine flex before you leave and ask the seller if it\u2019s ever been stored near a heater, has anyone else had a coffee table cat book fall apart like that?
