The slow blink thing actually works and I feel dumb for not trying it 3 years ago
My cat Pepper used to bolt under the bed every time I walked in the door, and nothing I read online helped. About a month ago I started doing the slow blink at her from across the room, like closing my eyes halfway and holding it for a second or two. First 5 or 6 tries she just stared at me like I was broken, but then she blinked back and something clicked. Now she does it first when I get home from work, and last Tuesday she stayed on the couch instead of running off. I still have no clue why it works, if it's a trust signal or just her copying me. Has anyone else had luck with the slow blink, and does it mean the same thing when they do it back?
