Packing cubes vs rolling, tested on a 9 day trip to Chicago

I used to swear by just rolling everything loose but tried those compression cubes last month. Fit way more in my 22 inch bag and digging for socks at 6am wasnt a disaster. Anyone else make the switch and never look back?

Nah, I’m the opposite. Cubes just add extra weight and bulk for me. I roll everything into tight little sausages and stuff them in the bottom of my bag. Yeah, it looks like a tornado hit my suitcase when I open it, but I can grab what I need without unzipping three different compartments. Plus, those cubes are useless for dirty laundry unless you want a separate smelly pouch. I’d rather just shove a plastic bag in and deal with it.
