Serious question, I just read that carpet fibers can hold up to 8 times their weight in dust and allergens.

Ngl, I found that stat in an old trade magazine from 2015. Honestly, it makes me think twice about how I explain the benefits of a good vacuum to customers. Do you guys bring this kind of thing up during sales or installs?

Old stats like that tend to stick around because they sound impressive enough to repeat. I notice that pattern a lot in everyday life, people latch onto a big number or a catchy fact and it just keeps circulating without anyone checking if it still holds up. The carpet dust thing probably came from some small study that got quoted everywhere and now it's gospel. I wouldn't trust it too much, especially since vacuum technology and carpet materials have changed plenty since 2015. Maybe focus more on the known stuff like regular cleaning schedules and good air filters instead. Those trade magazines love a good shock stat, but real world results usually tell a different story.

Do you actually believe that old stat is still true?

Seriously, what new data makes you think it changed?
