Factory tackstrip gaps are the real problem, not the carpet pad
I spent three days fighting a ripple in a living room in Boise last week, and it turned out the strip was set 3 inches off the wall where the old crew left a gap, so I say skip the fancy tools and check the basics before you ever roll out the goods, am I the only one who sees this on half the tear-outs?
