Always thought those little plastic seam rollers were a waste of money.
Got stuck on a tricky berber seam in a humid basement last week and a guy on the crew had one. Pressing it down hard after the iron actually made the seam almost disappear. Anyone have a specific brand they like for that, or is any cheap one fine?

Oh man, my buddy swore by his cheap one from the hardware store. He had this same thing happen on a glue-down job that was being stubborn. That little roller saved his whole afternoon.

Gotta ask, is a disappearing seam really the goal or just a nice bonus? Sounds like a lot of fuss for something that gets walked on anyway. Those rollers seem like another gadget to lose in the truck. If the iron and a knee kicker don't get it done, maybe the problem is the install, not the tools.

Remember that guy who said he'd never use one? He borrowed my cheap roller for a basement job and it saved a seam that was lifting. Now he won't shut up about keeping one in his kit.
