Unpopular opinion: old growth fir from a 1920s house in Seattle beats anything I can buy new
Tore out a wall in a 1922 craftsman near Ballard and the studs were so tight and straight I saved 14 of them, while the "premium" 2x4s I bought at the yard were twisted like pretzels, so has anyone else just started reusing old studs for their own projects?
