The trim crew in Billings taught me a 90 cent fix for chipped MDF corners

I was on a spec house job two weeks ago and the lead guy there dabbed wood filler on every dinged corner before sanding, so I tried it on my own cabinet install in Boise and got a way cleaner edge than my usual sand and pray method, has anyone else picked up a cheap trick from another crew that stuck with you?
