My chalk line popped 3 inches off on a cabinet run in Waco, here is how I saved it
I was setting base cabinets in a kitchen down in Waco and my chalk line snapped way off from the corner, about 3 inches out over 12 feet. Turned out the drywall corner wasn't square, so I was basically measuring against a lie. I pulled the cabs back off the wall, found the high spot with a 6 foot level, and shimmed the low side to match. Took me an extra hour and a half but the countertop guy didn't have to cut a weird filler. How do you all handle out of square walls on a long run, do you scribe or just float it with shims?
