I used to cut crown molding flat on the saw table for years
A guy I worked with in Tampa watched me do it and said, 'You know you're making it ten times harder, right?' He showed me how to set the molding against the fence at the same angle it sits on the wall. I tried it on a job the next day and the joints fit perfect on the first try. How many other simple tricks are we all missing?

Ever watch a buddy struggle with a tape measure? He was adding fractions for every cut until someone showed him the little red numbers.

You think that's always the better way? Sometimes the flat method gives you more control on tricky walls. That red number trick @stone.sarah mentioned is fine for simple math, but what if your tape is old and the marks are worn off? Knowing how to actually add fractions is a solid backup plan.
