The old guy at the REI in Denver tapped my tent stake and asked one question that stuck
Last month I was in the Denver REI returning a bent stake when a guy who looked like he had been camping since the 70s pointed at my setup and asked if I was using the stake loops on my tent fly or just clipping to the guy line. He showed me the right way in about 30 seconds and explained the loop keeps tension even in a gust, which is why my fly kept flapping at 9,000 feet all weekend. Has anyone else had a random stranger in a gear shop drop a tip on them that ended up being the most useful thing they learned all season?
