My old coleman lantern went from dim to bright after one simple fix
I picked up a used dual fuel lantern at a yard sale in Akron for $8 and it barely lit up. The mantles were fine but the generator tube was clogged with old fuel varnish after sitting for years. I watched a video and swapped out the generator for a $15 part, took maybe 20 minutes with a wrench. Fired it up last weekend in the backyard and the difference was night and day, bright white light instead of that weak orange flicker. Anybody else ever rebuild an old lantern instead of buying new? I'm curious if the newer LED setups are actually worth switching to for car camping trips.
