PSA: velcro straps almost killed my router, zip ties in a closet for 5 years were the safer bet
5 years ago I had to pick between reusable velcro straps and plain zip ties for the rats nest behind my TV stand. I went velcro because everyone swore it was the smart choice, and last week I found out the hard way that cheap velcro dries out and lets go. My router cable slid down, yanked the power brick off the shelf, and it fell right onto a heating vent at 2am. I swapped back to zip ties with a little slack loop, and honestly it looks cleaner than the velcro ever did. Anyone else had velcro give out on them after a couple years, or did I just buy the wrong roll?
