Vent: A maple face frame took me 5 hours to get flat because the boards kept moving
Spent last Saturday on a single maple face frame for a built-in in my Minneapolis shop, and it fought me for 5 hours because I jointed the stock one day and glued it up the next, so everything moved on me. I kept re-jointing and re-clamping and it still rocked on the bench, so I finally checked with winding sticks and found a twist I'd been chasing in circles. Do you glue up maple the same day you mill it, or am I the only one getting burned by letting it sit overnight?
